Tennis Additional

I'm a Straight A student with the desire to play college tennis for a great school. I'm a great competitor that fights to the end. I sometimes beat people who are twice as good as I am because I simply just want it more.

Personal Highlights

I'm a straight A student and an active Christian. I work hard in everything I do and I do my best to be the best leader that I can be.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I demonstrate leadership on the court by being intense and competitive which pumps my teammates up. I'm also a really nice guy that doesn't discriminate against anyone on the team. These are reasons why I have been elected a captain of my tennis team my sophomore, Junior, and Senior year.

Off of the court, I'm a leader by helping kids in my class with their schoolwork. Sometimes my classmates are kind of intimidated by my teachers, so I come in and help them with some of the simpler things. Also, at my high school, I sometimes come upon some sophomores that don't have a ride to lunch because they don't have their license, so I give them a ride. These are just a few things that I do. I might also add that I'm a leader in my youth group and throughout my church.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

First of all, I make sure I keep up with my academics and then I worry about tennis. Don't get me wrong, Tennis is my life and because of that I have some high standards for myself so that I can reach the peak in my performance. I do not drink any carbonated beverages....EVER! And I try to eat as healthy as I can. I hit everyday for at least an hour or and hour and a half. I have a workout I do in the morning before school that includes running, push-ups, lunges, and planks. I also use an ab-roller which strengthens your abs.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved in a program that my church puts on for the community. This program is called Prayer Breakfast. The program lasts from 9:00-11:30 am every Saturday morning. During Prayer Breakfast, I help prepare breakfast for the people who are in the church worshipping. After everything is prepared, I wait until the people come into the eating hall and then I help serve them the food. Once everyone gets their food, I go around and pick up their trays and then I take them to the kitchen and wash them. Once everyone is done eating, I help my church family clean up and vacuum the eating hall and kitchen. I have been accumulating volunteer hours and I plan to keep doing this for as long as I can.

Prayer Breakfast is great because it not only provides a feast of a breakfast for its' church members, but also, we allow homeless and needy people to come in and eat as well. It's such a great program to be apart of. It's a great atmosphere.
I'm also a great leader in my youth group at church. I help my youth pastor out by trying to get the attention of the younger, newer kids. I
