Personal Highlights

I would like an opportunity to learn in an academic program that encourages strong academics and athletics. I am passionate about running and achieving my best in all aspects of life: academics, athletics, service, and relationships with my peers. I will be competitive at the college level because I have intense focus for success and motivation to devote the effort necessary to be a champion. I believe that a man reaps what he sows, and I embrace hard work to achieve success.

People ask how I run fast even though I’ve only started running long distances in 2013?

“Two-Thirds is good genetics & blessings from God. One-Third is listening to coaches, putting in the miles, keeping my body healthy, dreaming about running & winning, and keeping away from alcohol, drugs, and things that waste time.”

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I believe in fostering the growth of younger athletes. I have teammates who struggle with family and life, and I have spent time with teammates to listen, to give advice, and to encourage them. As an active member of my church, I enjoy mentoring people and leading my teammates in God honoring ways.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Cataracts are the number one cause for blindness around the world. Unfortunately, many people cannot afford this sight-saving surgery. I raised money for eye surgeries for patients who cannot afford to pay for surgery. Serving others allow me to improve the lives of others but also to serve as a leader and example for other student athletes.
