Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I choose to have a positive attitude when I go into anything. I do this, so my friends and boat mates know that they can count on me as support. This comfort is essential going into a race, erg test, or an academic exam.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am on the Peer Inclusion Team at my school. It is an exclusive team of students who went through an application process. 20 out of 60 applicants were accepted. Our job is to go to class everyday with an assigned student, and be his/her mentor. You become friends, and help he/she with their understanding of the material. I mentor a special-needs health class, providing emotional support to students, and helping them understand the material. This service is important to me because it gives me a feeling of satisfaction at the end of the day.

I also volunteer at an emergency homeless shelter, in the lower-income areas near where I live. I spend hours at a time preparing entire meals for a little over one hundred homeless men. Coming from a privileged family, I enjoy giving back to my community.
