Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As a student-athlete it is of the upmost importance to keep yourself healthy, fit and stress free! It is not always easy trying to balance a rigorous workout schedule with a challenging academic course load. For me, I try to always eat healthy and good foods that will fuel my body... I eat well and a lot as often as possible. I also try to manage my schedules so that I don't become overwhelmed by my schoolwork and getting the right amount of sleep, so that my performance in the classroom as well as the boat does not suffer. I am fortunate that I have a good immune system and have not had to miss any school or practices because of illness. I also listen to my body...if it hurts badly enough, I back off. I am once again fortunate not to have sustained any injuries from my sports. And when I get really stressed...I go for a long run and a hot steam. And obviously...stay away from drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol...they don't mix well with athletic performance!

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have been raised in a family that believes in giving back to the community and helping others who are less fortunate. I have attended many charity functions with my family and I also directly participate in reaching out to help others by working & supporting the UJA Federation with their program "Supplies for Success...Give Back with a Backpack". I have also participated in community service projects during the school year, helping out local people in the area. I feel it is my responsibility as an able and fortunate human being to help others who might not have had the same advantages that I had. It brings me great pleasure to know that my efforts in helping others truly makes a difference.
