Hello! My name is Carmen Rosemond. My favorite number is #22. That's also my uniform number! I'm a 2 year varsity high school basketball captain for the Career Lady Panthers. What do I bring to the table? Toughness, leadership, willingness to listen and learn, respect, and loyalty......
I'm looking foward to playing college ball and being that impact player that I'm.
I've been working towards this since I was in sixth grade. I've worked very hard on and off the court to be able to achieve this goal and become a leader and an asset to my team. To be recruited and play the sport I love is a privilege and an honor that I will not take lightly or waste. I will work hard to be a part of something great !!
I am very helpful to my teachers and classmates at school. I love my school and I am happy to help make sure everyone gets along and is safe. I love to support my basketball teammates and all the young players that look up to me. It's very important for me to be a good role model. Even if I was not a captain, I would still support them.As a team captain I think it's important for me to be a good leader and encourage my teammates to do well on the court and in life in general.
I pursue healthy athletic performance by taking care of my body and by always trying my best at practices and games. I also try not to be disruptive or let my team down, even if I'm not feeling well. My mom and my coach always talk to me about finding balance in my life. So I focus on being a good student as much as being a good athlete.
For the past three years, I have been a member of the United Sports Family, which is a youth sports organization based in new Haven ,CT. Through the USF, I have volunteered at basketball camps, helping younger girls learn the game. Since 2013, I have put in over 20 volunteer hours at the Mary Wade Home , an elderly residential facility in New Haven. I marched as a clown in the Mary Wade Annual Parade, served food and helped with clean up at the annual Mary Wade Family Fun Day three times, and I have spent time with the elderly residents at the home. I also help around the holidays with donations and serving the less fortunate. Community service is important to me because I enjoy helping others, especially people who cannot help themselves . I think everyone should want to serve their community in some way.
