2019 G AJ Makinen of Muskego will take unofficial visit to Green Bay on Saturday.— Mark Miller (@WisBBYearbook) November 26, 2016

* A. J. Makinen , a 6'1 2019 160 lb prospect of Muskego HS (WI), is a solid player with potential. A. J. possesses fantastic size for position and the prospect has very good length and good athleticism. A. J. reported a fantastic academic resume and proved to have a superb basketball IQ. The prospect displayed superb shot selection in addition to being a superb shooter with time and space. Scouts Focus - November 2016
* Here is a look at other area teams to watch next season: Muskego (20-5): After back-to-back Classic 8 titles in 2015 and ’16, the Warriors finished second in the league in a supposed rebuilding year. Next year, sophomore guard A.J. Makinen and sophomore forward Stu Vent, two first-team all-conference picks, will give the Warriors a strong foundation on which to build. ~ Mark Stewart, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Prep Editor - March 19, 2017
* Regional Final - Muskego 64, Beloit Memorial 60 ~...Muskego sophomore A.J. Makinen was crucial down the stretch, hitting 4 of 4 free-throw attempts in the final 29.3 seconds of the game to extend the Warriors (20-4) winning streak to four games. “I had complete confidence in myself,” said Makinen about his free-throw shooting. “My teammates had complete confidence in me, and so did my coach. He said I was one of the best in our conference. I knew I was knocking them down.”...“He’s one of the most talented guys I’ve coached and he’s only a sophomore,” said coach Capes about Makinen. “He’s very humble and heck of a leader. He’s a pleasure to coach. Good young man and good student. He does a lot of what we ask of him. I’m proud of him.”~ Dan Zielinski, Now Media - March 4, 2017
* Lake Country Now Roundball Rankings: #5 Muskego (8-1) "...The Warriors, a team that was supposedly going to be rebuilding after graduating four starting seniors on last year's state finalist, has risen rapidly into prominence behind the play of sophomores AJ Makinen and Stu Vent."~ J.R. Radcliffe, Now Media Group Sports Director - January 3, 2017
* Muskego 58, Eisenhower 54 - sophomore point guard A.J. Makinen knocked down three triples and helped out all over the floor. Vent led the game with 22 points and added six rebounds and three assists. Makinen got 17 points, three rebounds and three assists. Makinen showed a lot of different skills. He drove well to the hoop where he sunk floaters and short jumpers, he hit 3-pointers, and he scored and passed well in transition. “Makinen really took over and could penetrate and finish at will,” Muskego coach Capes said. “He impressed me with his ability to get to the basket and make good choices, and take care of the ball. As a sophomore point guard it’s a lot to ask and he did a great job.”~ Kenny Yoo, Waukesha Freeman - November 30, 2016
* Dominican will be one of the team's to watch next season. Here are some others: Muskego (23-5): The Warriors will miss a five-man senior class led by all-state guard Caleb Wagner. The future lies with Stu Vent, a 6-4 forward, and A.J. Makinen, a 6-0 guard, who are part of a strong freshmen class working its way up the ranks. ~ Mark Stewart, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Prep Editor - March 21, 2016
