Rowing Additional

I am a junior, and with senior year approaching, I have begun searching for schools with rowing teams. My first and only 2k was a 6:55 with a 1:43. 8 split.I want to pursuit rowing in college because over the course of this year I have developed a great appreciation for the sport and the team mentality that is vital to this sport.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am very active in my community, because I feel that it is important to invest time into important causes. I have been a member of the Assistance League of Santa Ana for the last two years and a member of the California Scholarship Federation for the last three. In both of these organizations I am able to raise money for the less fortunate and help better the environment we live in. I am an active member at my church and have volunteered and led youth groups at Vacation Bible Schools for the past four years. I also counseled a group of kids in the mountains at Forest Home for a week. I have worked to raise money for World Vision and ending world hunger through work projects, 30 hour Famine, and other awareness events. In the future and at college I would like to raise awareness of famine to help bring an end to a worldly problem.
