Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Being an Eagle Scout in Troop 20 Winnetka and having served in the troop since 5th grade, I have had a number of opportunities to serve my community and be a part of it. It is important for me to serve because I feel a part of the community and actually do receive back as much as I have given. I've learned so much about local government, citizenship and duty. Some of the service projects included cleaning up the forest areas around the lagoons in Winnetka, leading and marching in dozens of holiday parades as a flag barer, marshaling the town bike rides and giving speeches to younger scouts about scouting. And for my Eagle Project I worked with the Winnetka Park District to plan and put in plants within the new bioswales (ditches with an ecosystem) at the new turf play fields. This project taught me about being a leader, a self-starter, being planned and committed to working a large project with fellow scouts that I brought together to get the job done. It was a success and I did learn a great deal about ecosystems and the science of water management.
