Personal Highlights

I am eager to attend a U.S college basketball program to help improve my basketball knowledge and experience whilst gaining an education.
I am a self-motivated learner and believe this experience will enhance my future opportunities to gain employment as well as provide me many life experiences.

I hope to be able to build on my skills and develop as a player. I am not scared of hard work and actually enjoy these challenges that your program will present to me.

I mainly play as a Point and shooting Guard – with my club team – Forestville Eagles District Basketball Club and school team Sacred Heart College. I pride myself in playing hard basketball and diving on loose balls. I create for my team and make the right decisions by providing many assists and love playing as a valuable team player. I am fit, eager and I love getting up and down the court as quick as possible.

At my School Graduation I was the very first precipitant to receive the very prestigious award called the John Cadd award from Sacred Heart Basketball senior teams. Mr John Cadd has been at our school and involved in SA basketball for over 30 years. I have also included a reference letter from Mr John Cadd for your perusal.

I was also named Athlete of the year for Sacred Heart College of 2014 due to my sporting commitments and athletic abilities for the school. Which is a great honour as our college prides itself for its sporting accomplishments..

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am a leader and set by good example in my work place as I am reliable honest and hard working and show initiative.

On the basketball court, I am supportive and always a team player who likes to win, with my team and bring others into the game.

I listen to the coach and follow instructions well.

And I have also been awarded a significant award being - Athlete of the year in my Graduation year at Sacred Heart. for 2014

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I enjoy keeping fit and strive in this area - I do extra running sessions, participate in cross training eg:- swimming as well as my training sessions with my basketball club. x 2 times a week.

I understand the importance of stretching as I did a special project in how stretching can prevent injuries and help your performance as part of my Year 12 High School Certificate.
I also try get enough sleep so that I can perform at my best.

I also try and eat healthy and know what is good fuel for best performance - I did undertake home economics this year as my final year at High school and food / Nutrician was a big part of this learning. In which I have scored a Merit - Full marks in this subject.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have been involved in Surf Life Saving where I have been a volunteer and provided many hours of patrolling on our local surf beaches - I have Senior 1st Aid and Bronze Medallion as part of my qualifications, Which provides the community with a safe place to swim.
I enjoy being a member of Somerton Surf Life Saving club as it is rewarding for me to give back to my local Surf Club and also know that I am protecting young and old people who wish to feel safe at our beaches.

I also provided coaching to U12s when I was in U16 for 2 years but due to my basketball schedule and my working hours I was not able to pursue this. I really enjoyed coahcing the
children new basketball skills and I also believed it helped me grow as a basketball player, understanding the game and all its aspects.

I have been working at Subway since I was 14 as a part time worker and now taken over as a senior working in this work environment. Which I enjoy being responsible person, working with people and helping train new young people when they come to work at this shop.
