Personal Highlights

I started diving as a freshmen in high school, after spending 10 years as a competitive gymnast. At the time I left gymnastics, I was training for my level 9 season. I currently am training with Legacy Diving in Ypsilanti Michigan and am working on a 3M diving list.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

During my years diving at Chippewa Valley high school I have encouraged and helped new divers whenever possible. I always strive to be a hard worker with a positive attitude and set an example for younger team mates. Showing respect and trusting my coaches and encouraging others to do the same is another way I strive to be a leader.

Being the oldest in my family, I aim to lead by example in making good choices academically and in my personal life. Whenever my younger siblings come to me, I try and provide the best advice based on my own experiences.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

While training as an athlete, I work at staying healthy by eating a balanced diet, getting enough rest, and remaining hydrated. Being an athlete means making positive choices and not succumbing to peer pressures that would effect my practice or performance ability. Mentally, I have learned it is extremely important to stay positive and maintain individual focus on my goals. I set personal goals that are realistic and achievable. It is imperative to balance school work and training by staying organized and task oriented.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

As part of my high school swim and dive team, I volunteered at holiday parties for a group of mentally and physically challenged preschool children. I have also volunteered my time in my mom's preschool classroom, working with students. At my church I have participated in collecting children's books for a women's shelter.

Being involved in my community is important because I have been blessed to be healthy and have grown up in a loving home and I believe that sharing and helping others is a valuable use of my time and talents.
