Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Every summer for the past few years, I have volunteered at a special needs camp here in Jacksonville, known as Camp I Am Special ( High schoolers, like myself, volunteer, staying overnight for one week periods, and become a "buddy" to a mentally challenged individual, taking care of their every need 24/7 during that week, really creating great, lasting friendships. I have learned many lessons at camp and I have spent many great weeks there, which has led me to start thinking about maybe even a career involving Special Education or Therapy. Being able to share happiness and love with others is one of the greatest feelings, especially at camp, where everyone understands each other and always has a good time.

Just this year, my friend and I realized that our high school could use a little more kindness around campus-- a happier atmosphere-- so we decided to do something about it. We started our own club and called it Random Acts of Kindness, known as RAK. Within our club, we host monthly activities that encourage the student body to be more considerate of others and monthly events to promote kindness throughout the school. Club members also occasionally partake in random "RAK's" (random acts of kindness) throughout the year to remind everyone that happiness is contagious.

Other service activities I am involved in include being a member of my church youth group's leadership team, volunteering at Vacation Bible Schools during the summer, and delivering food/cooking meals at the Mission House.
