Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited to play tennis at the collegiate level because it opens up my life to new experiences. I have always loved the game of tennis and it has been my passion for numerous years. The idea of possibly playing a sport in college is something that I have always dreamed of doing ever since I was a kid. Aside from these aspirations, scholarships provide the opportunity to save money for my family throughout the college process which is also very attractive to me.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I play a huge part in the leadership role on my high school tennis team. I play #1 varsity singles, so as the "best player" on the team I have a huge influence on my fellow teammates. My attitude, work ethic, focus, and actions are seen and copied by my teammates. This drives me to lead my team in the right direction to accomplish the goals we have set for both the regular season and post season matches. It is my job to encourage, remind, and push every participate on the team to achieve the goals set.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I have always put my academics before athletics. I realize that my academics are going to get me a lot further along with life than athletics will. Tennis eventually will end but academics will allow me to land my dream job and live in financial security in the future. I believe that academic success will lead to long term success. I value getting good grades and it is of utmost importance to me that I graduate in the top five percent of my class, which I am on track to do.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am actively involved in many extra curricular activities both in and out of school. I am the vice president of Global Discussion Club at my high school. In the club we talk about current events and have in depth conversations about how these events affect the world. I am also an active member of National Honor Society, Key Club (Kiwanis), L.E.A.D and Pep Club. Outside of school, I am on the student leadership team at Living in Testimony Ministries. Living in Testimony Ministries is a youth group that is focused on getting out into the community to share the love of God.
