Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I want to be recruited to play sports in college simply because I love the game. Making it to the MLB is every kids dream. But I am realistic and would love the opportunity to continue to play in college while working on getting a degree for a life long career. I love everything about baseball from the pressure of an 0-2 count to the simple spitting sunflower seeds while I cheer on the team. Baseball is a dream that I want to continue to turn into a lifestyle. Being recruited to play baseball in college is the next level of the dream, I hope you consider giving me a chance!

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the field I am a pitcher and also a catcher. I assist in controlling the pace of the game. Not only that but as a team leader it is my job to make sure everyone keeps their heads up. Off the field, in the classroom, I am also a leader. I always participate and try to help fellow students who may not understand the subject being talked about in class.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue "healthy athletic performance" by not giving into peer pressure. By not giving in when someone pressures me to drink or smoke because it is the "cool thing to do," is one example of this. I then take it a step further and encourage them to make better choices. My future as an athlete is more important to me than "the cool thing to do" so I choose to make the right choices and pursue a "healthy athletic performance."

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

In my community I am a volunteer at the YMCA Kids Summer Camp as a camp counselor (CIT). I help to make sure the kids stay out of trouble and act as a leader/role model to them. These efforts are important to me because I strive to make people happy and enjoy helping people better themselves. I enjoy being a role model to these kids and will continue to do it for more years to come.
I also am an active leader in the youth group in my town, Young Life. We complete community activities as a group and meet weekly.
