Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

This past year I was the captain of the Dana Hills JV Lacrosse Team. My athletic abilities, which I have developed over my years training for diving, helped me cross over to the team sport of lacrosse. Through my leadership role as team captain, I encouraged, supported, and rallied my teammates.

In the sport of diving, I have begun to assist my club coaches with the dry land training for novice and lesson divers. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of diving skills and techniques with younger divers. I always act as a positive role model for the novice divers on my diving club team.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

My priority is my classwork and maintaining good grades in challenging classes. I always use time management skills to ensure I complete homework assignments on time. While I am at practice, my focus is on optimizing my time on the boards or in dry-land to develop my skills and techniques. For the past two years, I have been able to train for 2 hours a day for 5-6 days a week for diving as well as practice with the lacrosse team 3-4 times a week and maintain my 4.0 GPA with several AP classes.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am an active member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. I have been a member of the altar server ministry for 7 years and serve at least once a month at Mass. My dedication to this ministry serves the whole St. Timothy community. I am also an active member in the High School Youth Group and often assist with projects for the younger children. For example, at Halloween, I dress up as a Saint and hand out treats, and at our annual Fair, I work in a carnival booth. I also participate in our annual re-enactment of the Stations of the Cross.
