Dear ladies and gentlemen,

my name is Chase Reichenberg and I am from Hamburg, Germany and I am 18 years old and looking for a scholarship for the upcoming season.

Currently I am playing my first "mens"' season (as one call's in the States) for SC Victoria Hamburg, the third biggest club in Hamburg after HSV and St. Pauli.
Before starting my first men's season this year, I played at a constant high youth level.

I started playing soccer at my local club in my home town when I was 5 years old.
After switching twice to other local clubs in my area, I was recruited by the U17 Bundesliga team of St. Pauli. After one season, which unfortunately saw me struggling with some injuries, I did not make it onto the U19 team from St. Pauli.

I then switched to the club SC Condor and played on their U19 Regionalliga Nord team, which is the second highest youth league in German soccer.I then immediately became team captain for the year and a half I was on the team as well as defense captain. I also was the youngest player on the 24-men roster.

After my first season at SC Condor I received a new offer from the U19 St. Pauli Bundesliga team, but unfortunately turned it down due to a heavy school load that didn't allow for all the practice time required for Bundesliga. So I stayed with SC Condor for another half season. Then having the second best defense in the league with Condor, I was recruited in Winter '13 due to my good performance, to the U19 VfB Lübeck Bundesliga team. I played 11 games, starting 8 and was substituted in 3.

Furthermore I'd like to add that I am half american. My mom is from Orange County, California with half of my family still living there.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I began coaching a local soccer team at the age of thirteen until I turned eighteen. When I got my team the boys were five and six years old. The first year we had no games and it was all about building coordination, team spirit and the basics of soccer.

The next season we started training for games and came in first place out of eight in our local division. We continued to come in first place after that.
Our biggest victory was in Spring 2013 where we came in third place out of 264 teams in the indoor season. The following transfer period six out of ten my players were recruited by the two Bundesliga clubs from Hamburg, Hamburger SV (HSV) and the FC St. Pauli.

I myself was also recruited as a coach to the HSV team to co-coach their U9 team at their high performance center.

I had to give up the coaching after half a year due to being recruited to VfB Lübeck in the U19 Bundesliga team.
