Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have been a leader in softball for the past few years, helping our younger teamates acclimate to our teams systems, leading cheers during games and organizing get togethers for "fun" time and team bonding. We are lucky that all the girls are awesome and want to be their personnel best.

Off the field I help my friends do the best they can with their coursework. Many times I have put together study sessions that have helped some of my friends struggling with homework to understand the circumstance and situation to be better in the classroom.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Health can mean both mental and physical health. I am lucky that my mother is a registered dietitian and she keeps our family in line in terms of food health. So our family makes a conscious effort to maintain and healthy lifestyle at home. My father is an ex college football quarterback who works out alot and takes me to training sessions with him with light weights and aerobic training, similar to an "Insanity" type work-out.

Mentally i read alot about successful coaches and players. One of my favorites, is John Wooden's pyramid of success. I post pictures and quotes of things I find inspirational on my bedroom walls so that I can look at those images and remember my goals. I also have enjoyed reading about how people have overcome difficult odds and survived or thrived. Lone Survivor is one of my favorite stories. Again, my teamates make it easy to focus because we all have big dreams and we support each other very much in all we do.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have volunteered within my community by supporting the work of the Waterville Area Chamber of Commerce. I have helped the chamber on many occasions completing numerous tasks during our community festival as well as helping organize and support the board of directors with their tasks.

I believe that helping our business community is one way to make our overall community a better place for all on many levels.
