Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am very involved with my church's mission work and community service. This last year I traveled to Tiajuana and built houses for 2 weeks, as well as volunteer at an orphanage and an AIDS clinic while down there, which really opened my eyes about the world outside of the U.S. It showed me that the border isn't just a line on the map and many kids my age think nowadays. I plan on returning to Tiajuana with my church again this summer and next summer.

Also since I have been in 6th grade I have been going to Burlington WA to working in a food bank as well as making lunches for migrant children and playing with them while their parents are out at the fields picking your vegetables. We also get the chance to work out in the feilds doing various jobs like weeding and picking different plants. Which has showed me where my food comes from and the price people pay in order to put food on the table for their children. Which has made me grateful for the food I get to eat and the opportunities I have in my life.

Every Sunday, I go and bake around 2,000 cookies with other members of my church to give to an organization called Operation Sack Lunch, which gives homeless people in Washington lunches and also serves a hot dinner. The cookies that we bake are put into the lunches for the many homeless people in the Seattle area, where the organization was started.
