Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I was elected Junior Class President this school year and have been a member of the Varsity field hockey team since my Freshman year. As president of my class, I have been a voice and leader by communicating with teachers and administrators the thoughts and opinions of my peers. I have exceled as a midfielder on my team by working hard in the off season and sharing skills I have learned along with promoting positive attitude with my teammates. I also encourage younger players to get involved in off season play to improve their abilities.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

My Mom is a school nurse so she stresses the importance of healthy eating & rest. Balancing school & athletic work along with enjoying being sixteen years old is not always easy but possible. I am educated on proper nutrition & hydration which keeps me healthy and able to perform at my best in the classroom and on the field. My coach has instilled the importance of being healthy both physically & mentally. With the support of my family, friends, coaches & teachers, I have exceled both on & off the field.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Camden is a small community with a high level of poverty. Overall I strive to be a respectful and hardworking student with hopes that I am setting an example for my peers. I have been involved with Relay for Life events since I was five years old along with being a bell ringer for our local Salvation Army. I was a member of National Junior Honor Society & was recently elected to National Honor Society. I have participated in many community service events such as community clean up day, holiday decorating & the local Humane Society. I want my community to thrive and be the best it can be.
