My primary focus is to select a college that provides both a challenging source of higher education for my career goals and a strong coaching staff that builds team pride, personal development, and commitment to success. I tend to be a fairly serious person, but in order for me to excel in academics or athletics, I need to build strong relationships with my professors and my coaches. I see these people as critical contributors to my ability to succeed in my career and since swimming is such a central component to my mental and physical health, my swim coaches have become close personal advisors and have had great influence on how I perform in the classroom and in the pool.

I am lucky to be an outstanding student of swimming. I have an innate ability to absorb instruction and technique adjustments and put them into action during practices and competition. Because of this ability, I have been able to contribute to my swim clubs and school teams by continually improving under the supervision of excellent coaching. The quality of relationship I can develop with my college swim coach will be a crucial part of my college selection process. The type of coach that closely monitors practices, watches each race at swim meets, and then channels those observations and the resulting instruction into practical use is extremely valuable to me. The more interactive my swim coach is with me, the more I directly succeed in posting best individual times.

My coaches would say that I am a hard worker, very coachable, and that I am intently focused on the task at hand. For those coaches who are looking to have a lasting impact on their swimmers and pull the very best efforts and results from them, then I would characterize myself as a good fit for your Men's Swim Team. I invest maximum effort into my swimming and into my academic studies and I believe this hard work has made me a better person. I recognize that sacrifice and drive build a person’s unique character and I hope to partner with my new swim coach to make the very best of every opportunity and achieve outstanding results for my team.
