Personal Highlights

I have been playing several sports since I was young but basketball has been my favourite. Though I know basketball is a game for taller people, I believe that my skills, quickness, basketball IQ and talent will make me successful in this sport. I dream of playing in a college level especially in the US after I complete high school and would like to have a scholarship.

I have good ball handling skills, good shooting and passing. I am very coachable and would like to learn more to improve my game.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

In order to pursue my healthy athletic performance, I must consistently eat healthy foods, attempting to avoid foods that will not allow to to perform at my best. In addition, I must also keep active not only in basketball, but in other forms of exercise. This may include playing other sports or going to the gym consistently. In order to pursue my healthy athletic performance, I must also avoid taking any form of drugs in order to keep healthy and have the ability to perform at my best.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved in various extracurricular activities around my community. I have done various fundraisers such as a "Garage Sale for Typhoon Haiyan" and "Philippine Typhoon fundraiser" in order to help my community raise money for the typhoon that devastated the Philippines. This is very important to me not only because I am a Filipino, but because I have family in the Philippines and it is very sad to have a disaster occur close to my family members.

In addition, I have served in the community by competing in a Rubiks cube competition sponsored by Clear Thinking in order to raise awareness for mental issues in Australia. This is important to me as I know how to solve the Rubiks cube and I find that using my skill to help others would be a great idea.

In relation to basketball, I have assisted in coaching with Under 12 club team and helped teach the players some new skills. I find this important to me because I want the chance to teach others my skills and share my knowledge of basketball.

I have also volunteered at my local church during Sunday schools in order to help teach younger children about the Catholic Faith. My mother is a volunteer Sunday school teacher and it is important for children to learn about Jesus and his life.
