Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I always try the very best I can to be a leader to others. At practice, I always enourage my other teamates, whether they are learning something new or are having a bad practice. Outside of practice, I am leader for my whole graduating class. I have been a class officer for the past three years, and I am currently vice president. I help make the big descions for the class of 2016 including fundraisers and school dances.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I do my best to stay as healthy as possible, being the dedicated student and athlete I am. I make sure I get my work done as soon as I can so I can get to bed at a decent time, getting the hours of sleep I need to stay healthy. I stretch on my own when I am not busy, to help prevent injuries. I drink plenty of water throughout the day, so I do not become dehyrated. I go to the school weight room in the mornings and work out so I stay in shape.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Livingston County Youth Court- I volunteer on the jury for youth court. This is important to me because I like helpin people, espcially helping them make better decisions in the future.

Volunteer modified diving coach- This is important to me because the kids I coach will be the future divers at my high school and I want them to be successful.

Volunteer helper at Livingston County Cops for Kids Day- This is important to me because I love being around kids, and I help them play games.

Volunteer assistant at the New York State Festival of Balloons- This is important to me because I do it to help my Grandmother, who is in charge of the festival.

Volunteer teacher at Vacation Bible School one week in the summer- This is important to me because I teach the kindergarten class and I love being with kids and teaching them valuable lessons.

Volunteer Pony Express Leader- This is a club at my high school and it is important to me because I mentor the 7th graders.

Sunshine Softball- Run a softball game for special kids, this is important to me because it makes the kids so happy and I love seeing that.

Announcer at the Dansville Boys home swim meets- I announce all the times and scores off the races/dives at their home swimming and diving meets. This is important to me because when I can't be competing, I still like to be involved in the pool someway.
