Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

As a rower, I not only have to demonstrate my skills to my coaches and fellow racers but also to my teammates, especially the novice. I am also sure to help them with strokes on the water and scores on the erg. I want to make sure I can pass on as many tips and tricks that I learned from my experience as I can.

As a boy scout, I held various positions as patrol leader and den chief. These are leadership positions where I can guide younger scouts through their advancement . Over time, I get to pass on my skills and knowledge to them.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As an athlete, I know that nothing can be achieved without hard work and commitment. I also know that a healthy lifestyle on the side of my athletics is just as important. In order, to preform I always try to eat healthy as possible and keep junk out of my diet. One main aspect of my diet that varies from many of he other athletes around me at my school, is that I have no desire to use special bars or powders to enhance my performance, even if other people in my field are doing it.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Boy Scouts of America - Eagle Scout : Boys Scouts is a way for me to serve my community and be part of an organization that builds character, honor, leadership, and challenge me physically. I love the outdoors, camping, and hiking. I enjoyed working as a CIT and then camp counselor a Camp Read in the Adirondacks teaching Ecology Merit Badges.

IBM Family Science Saturday's - I worked as a Lab Assistant in a weekend program for 4th-6th graders and their families to take part in various lab experiments over 6 weeks. It was a way to give back and help other younger than myself.

Holy Name of Jesus - Youth Group : As member of the youth group I was able to help my community through various events like Blood Drives, food drives, making Thanksgiving Baskets for families, and Midnight Runs to provide clothing and food to the homeless.
