Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Recently, a teammate and I were recruiting for our club at school when we realized that a lot of people weren't even clear on what rowing is. So we decided to form a rowing club at our school to show people how interesting of a sport it is! We are planning to bring in ergs to club meetings, talk about the opportunities rowing can give students who are looking at playing a sport in college, and bringing them down to Lake Natoma to watch regattas!

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
-
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

There is an organization in my area called Fluff Buddies Rescue and Adoption that my family and I have been volunteering for since 2010. When feral or abandoned cats or kittens are found, people bring them to Fluff Buddies. Fluff Buddies then spays or neuters them and updates them on veterinary check ups before giving them to us as to foster. Then, we keep the cats as if they were our own until they can be spoken for on adoption days. Our family has had litters of up to 6 kittens before and over the years have fostered about 100 cats. Volunteering for Fluff Buddies is a lot of fun, a great learning experience, and is really rewarding when you see an abandoned cat get adopted by an eager, loving family. Also, the whole organization is purely volunteers so it's really cool when-on adoption days- everyone comes together to help set up and stays for hours to talk to interested families about which cat is right for them.
