Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

When there are open gyms for softball the older girls help run the practices. We tell the underclassmen what drills we should run and we help out the younger girls with technique and what the right stances are. In school when we have projects I usually am the one to start on what we each should do so that everyone is doing an equal amount of work.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I play more than one sport but softball is my favorite. I stay in shape on the off season by working out or playing other sports. After pitching each night I go home and ice my shoulder so that I do not wreck my shoulder. I try and eat as healthy as I can during the season.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

My school is a pretty small school so getting on the team is not difficult but that does not mean that we do not do as well as other schools. Our players are dedicated and hard working and those traits carry over to volunteering and helping out the community. My school throws multiple fund raisers throughout the years that the student athletes volunteer at. Teamwork and helping others really helps with interacting with others and serving them at our annual auction or the fish fries.
