Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On our team I have acted as a leader by encouraging and pushing other rowers to do off season workouts and to get every extra rep in possible to train for the Spring
Off the water I demonstrate leadership by tutoring a group of students whom I lead to academic success. I tutor geometry and meet at least one time a week with students to help them better grasp concepts.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

My healthy athletic performance is achieved while continuing to keep my grades up. An average day during the season consists of a morning erg piece at the boathouse, a full day of studying and testing then several hours after school at the boathouse doing a combination of erg pieces, on water pieces and races. In the off season I lift, do erg pieces and attend rowing camps. These examples are my typical way in which I pursue healthy athletic performance as a student athlete. It is a rule at Saint John's that school comes first. This is a big part of being a student athlete. Every day I am sure to be able to finish all my homework and studying for the upcoming days. This allows me to be both mentally and physically prepared for whatever lays ahead.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
