Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am currently in a program called PALS in my school. It is an organization where, if you are chosen, you are given a child in elementary or intermediate school that needs someone to look up to. We go during the class period to the school our child is in and we play games, read, and overall we are like older siblings to them. This year, during one of our home games, my PAL will walk on the field with me when they announce our names before the game.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I try to take care of my body as well as I can, but I think that "healthy athletic performance" doesn't just apply to eating right. I think that the word healthy applies to making healthy decisions on and off the field. Before I make any decisions I think of how it will affect me on the field, on the track, on the court, and in the classroom. I give 110% in everything I do. I believe that your team is as good as your weakest player, and if I am the weakest player, weak isnt what our team would be remembered by.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I participate in as many things in my community as possible. Most currently, my junior class is hosting a glow run to raise money for our class. This is taking place on January 25. I plan to help work the event as well as participate in the run. I have also helped set up for our main street festival the last two years. My sophomore year I helped work our booth that my sophomore class had.
