Other Academic Information
Currently I am the only sophomore taking calculus in my school district. I take all honors classes. In my free time I also compete in Science Olympiad for Anatomy & Physiology, Ecology, Bridge Building, and Airplane Model Building. I have a very math/science oriented thinking style, but I am also very outgoing. I just received a prestigious, full ride scholarship from American Councils to study Russian in Moldova for my senior year. In the country 14 people received this scholarship to Moldova and I am very excited to further my tennis skills while abroad.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

When considering my abilities as a leader I often think of how I try to lead by example. Whether that is taking the initiative to sit with someone who is alone or travelling to Ukraine by myself to help spread The Gospel, I am not afraid to take risks that can pay off in the long run. In tennis I think I demonstrate leadership by always remaining focused and giving my all into every practice. I hope that leading by example helps to motivate others as well as myself.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I participate in many service activities in my community. I am very involved in my church and love helping in any way I can. For example, we often visit the homeless shelter, The Haven House and prepare and serve meals while sharing the gospel. I also volunteer by singing for the congregation in the worship band on Sundays. During my life I have done community serve across the globe. I have been to Ukraine three times on mission trips. Including once this spring break for almost three weeks. Not only did we help renovate houses, but also worked closely with orphans. This has completely changed my heart and my life. These opportunities have opened my eyes to a world beyond what we encounter in America and it is very powerful. Participating in activities within my community is something I adore doing as well as putting a smile on everyone's face that I meet.
