Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Not only does my coach, Gary Greeno, trust me to serve as our team captain, but I also volunteer each summer to coach young basketball players both at my school and church basketball camps. I have been served as a coach of both camps every summer throughout my high school career. I lead my players through skills training and break down new basketball concepts to young players.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I try my best to eat a nutritionally balanced diet and stay hydrated, although at times when homework assignments increase, I sometimes eat fast food. I rest when I can and take dietary supplements. I stretch and strength-train. I pray and rely on my faith for encouragement. I would never consider experimenting with drugs or alcohol. Furthermore, I watch basketball videos on YouTube to try and learn new moves. These are examples of how I pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student athlete.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunteer every Sunday at my church as part of our greeting team. I welcome new families into our church body, hand out relevant information, and escort new children to their Sunday School classrooms.
