Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

As a sophmore I was elected to be captain for my softball team also I am the first ever junior elected to be caption for my field hockey team. As I grow as an individual I have learned I love helping my teammates. I love being that one person you can go to. This year my softball teammates would come to me for help on confidence at bat or how to make the play they just messed up on. Not only did they do this but often I would meet them in the school halls when they got a and test grade or there day wasn't going as planned. I enjoy being a leader on and off the field.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As I read this question I look at it many ways. The first way is staying fit. I exercise at least 4-5 times a week during tournament season and always work my hardest with my trainer. The second way I take this is having proper nutrition, I work my hardest to eat the right things so when its game time my body won't shut down. The third way I take this is making the right decisions with certain substances or drugs. I want the best image I am able to create for myself. Therefor I am strict about not being in the environment were these substances and drugs are.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

To help my community is a regular to me. I love seeing smiles on people who are less fortunate as I am. I often visit the local Alzheimer's Unit and talk to the ladies there. I sometimes will go in my uniform after games and they love it. I have created friendships there that will last a life time. When I leave I know that I made there day but the thing is, is that they made mine.
