Lansing Christian vs Ann Arbor Greenhills
Well right out of the gate it was easy to see why that AA Greenhills took the Pilgrims to a tie earlier this season. They were quick and hungry to score and score they did getting a 1-0 lead about 10 minutes into the game. The Pilgrims struck righ back as we knotted the score at 1-1 within a few minutes of going down. Sal played Sweeper as usual and sweep he did knocking opponants down and causing havoc in the defensive end of the field. Kyle played injured and that in my opininon was a poor decision with Districts and Regionals in about 10 days. With about 5 minutes remaining in the first half the Pilgrims took a 2-1 lead into the intermission. Early in the second half Kyle injured his other leg and with him out and our backup keeper in net it looked like it was going to be a interesting second half. AA struck first knotting the game at 2-2 getting by the defense and scoring past Brandon in net. Later in the half Sal put his team in jeapordy by fouling a player and taking a yellow card and having to sit at about the 20th minute of the second half for 10 minutes. During his time on the bench Greenhills scored twice to go up 4-2 with 10 minutes to play as Sal came back in on offense. At that point as usual we were able to deliver offensive pressure but to no avail as we ran out of gas and lost 4-2 to finish the week with two tough losses and our record now goes to 11-3-1. So much for our 2 ranking but next week we have three games and two of them we will have to start quite a few JV players as the Seniors and Juniors will be out of school on trips. Well for now it is time to heal and get ready for a run to States.
