Lansing Christian vs Genessee Christian
Well it is hard to believe but the Pigrims incredible season is coming to an end this week with three games remaining before starting the playoffs next week in Grand Rapids. Tonight was parent night and Uncle Tim and Aunt Heather along with Coach Eric from Sal's TNT team were in attendance. The evening was perfect if you call record temperatures in the high 80's perfect for the second week of October. This summer seems to never want to end and this past weekend we went as a family up north to bring the dock in and ended up going out on the west bay one more time in 80 degree weather. Well this is not about boating and great weather it is about fall and soccer. Tonight the boys lined up with the parents and were given chocolate roses which Sal and the rest of his teamates insisted on eating just before kickoff. The Pilgrims came out fast and furious against another top state ranked team that they beat earlier this year 2-1. Tonight they came out and quickly got up 2-0 and never looked back seemingly coasting to a 4-1 win and some confidence after a pretty tough week last week. Sal spent most of the night playing defense and moved up early in the second half to spark some offense and extend the Pilgrim lead with an assist to 3-0. Well we improve our record to 12-3-1 and impressed Uncle Tim who in the morning the next day asked when he could come out and watch Sal in the playoffs. I told him next week in GR and he said he would see what he could do.
