Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Member of Viking Edge, a group that helps Freshman transition from Middle School to High School and mentors them throughout the year.
When playing any sport it is important to show good sportsmanship to opposing players, coaches and officials. I demonstrated this by earning the Gateway Conference Sportsmanship Award for Varsity Girls Basketball. This award is awarded to one player annually.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I am a three sport high school athlete. My grades are most important and I strive to do my best in everything I do. However, I think being in athletics year round has taught me both time and stress management skills. I really enjoy playing multiple sports in high school. I realize I am sacrificing my ability to excel at one sport by playing multiple sports, but I am really enjoying the experience of being on so many good teams with so many great teammates. It's a great day to be a Viking! However, I hope that in college I can focus on one sport and meet my full potential. During the summer I think its important to eat healthy, lift weights, and participate in speed and agility training to help play my best during the season and prevent injuries.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

During the summers I help coach at my high school girls youth basketball camp. I think its important to share my skills as others have done with me. I look forward to helping with this summers golf camp.
