Briar Woods 2008

Attack
The biggest question facing the Falcon offense this off season is: “Can the attack put the ball in the back of the net in ‘08?” Briar Woods returns the entire starting attack from a year ago, and hopes to generate the offense through them. South Paw Scott Workman will lead the charge with help from Jason Smith, Andrew Davidson, and Jimmy O’Neill. Workman and Davidson have plenty of experience, starting almost every single game since the program began. Senior Jason Smith will need to play consistently in order to hold off charges from transfer Jimmy O’Neill and former attack man Michael Fowler.

Scott will be counted on to lead the offensive charge.
If the Falcon is to improve in 2K8, it will be necessary
for Scott to put the ball in the back of the net.

(North East, PA) The Mercyhurst North East men’s lacrosse team opened up their 2008-2009 campaign with a win on Parent’s Weekend.

“Despite laving lower numbers than in years past this team impressed me with their ability to play together as a team and move the ball.” said head coach coach Joe Ernst. The Saints have only had seven on field practices and played together like they had been playing together for years. They worked hard, moved the ball unselfishly and finished the ball when they saw the opportunity.

Leading the team offensively was sophomore attackman Brian Dacunha with 5 goals and 1 assist. Freshmen John Hink (2g, 3a), Scott Workman (2g, 3a) and Dan Metzger (3g, 1a) along with sophomore Brad Pendy (2g, 2a) were the other big contributors on offense. And, Miles Mack(1g, 1a), Kevin Connelly(1g), Jonathon BenAmoz(1g) and Chase Sutherland (1a) rounded out the scoring.
