Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the ice: I provide encouragement to my teammates. I also check in with our goalie to make sure his head is still in the game after we are scored on. I am a strong believer in communication and encourage my teammates to talk on the ice.
Off the ice: I try to set a good example by getting good grades, doing community service and staying healthy and fit.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I focus on good nutrition by eating healthy and making good choices. I also work out on non-hockey days to improve my cardio.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I served as an assistant coach on a Mite team and recognized by the Hockey Director to help Head coach a Squirt team this Spring. It's important to me to provide a role model to the kids and keep hockey fun while improving their skills. I also volunteer my time to help people with closed head and spinal cord injuries.
