Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Being a collegiate athlete has been a dream of mine for the longest time. Ever since my first dive off the block, I knew that is what I wanted. Sports are a big part of my life, especially swimming. I want to be competitive with swimming for as long as I can. It is not something I want to just give up when I graduate high school. I want to continue my passion and love for swimming for another four years, and maybe even more.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

To be a true leader, you need to be a leader in not just one thing you do, but in everything you do. I always give it my all when it comes to being a leader. I have been the captain of my high school swim team for the past three years, starting in 8th grade. Whether it is a practice or a meet, I am always encouraging my teammates to do their absolute best. I have been on my club swim team for ten years, and although there is not a specific "captain" position, I still see myself as one. I always want the best effort out of everyone. Out of the pool, I am still a leader. I encourage all of my friends to do their best. I am always cheering for the sports teams. I am currently the class president at my high school which is another leadership role I pursue.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

It is important that you have a well balanced schedule when it comes to being a student athlete. If you don't eat right or sleep enough (as well as other things), it effects how you perform as a student and as an athlete. I believe having the right diet and sleep schedule is the key to being successful, which is why I try to eat as healthy as I can, as well as get enough sleep at night. You obviously have to keep your grades up in school in order to keep doing athletics, which is why I make sure my school work always gets done.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I assist with my high school's modified swimming programs during the fall sports season. I also volunteer as a lifeguard for elementary/middle school activities that happen in the pool. These efforts are important to me because I want to help build our swim program at Odessa-Montour and I love being able to show younger swimmers the love I have for swimming. I also am pleased that I have the opportunity to volunteer as a lifeguard, giving young kids a chance to experience time in the pool.
