Cross Country additional

My first season of Cross Country was in 2007, the Fall of my Sophomore year. I was not very good then, and to be honest I only joined so I could be with my friends. My fastest time was around 20:20 or 20:30.
Fall of 2008, however, I came to the realization that I could do so much better, and worked harder than ever before. I became more serious and more mature my Junior year, and this made me shift the gears of my life completely. I dropped my 5k time from 20:30s to 17:53 by the end of the season. We surprised other teams last year by getting third in our District and qualifying for Regionals, even with a new coach and a previously not-so-good team.
Now, as co-captain of my high school Cross Country team, I am working on getting into the 16 minutes this season. We are hoping to surprise everyone yet again, and we are trying to make a run for States.

Indoor Additional

I have only done Indoor Track for one season, and it was a good season in that through it I found that my best events are mid-distances. I run very well in the 800m and the 1600m. I ran the 1000m once, getting a 2:53 and 7th place in the process at an invitational. From then on, I focused on the 800m, 1600m, and the 4x800m relay, which I was a leading member of. I occasionally ran the 3200m, though I did not do as well as I should have the few times I ran it.
I was a member of our 4x800m relay team that got 3rd place and qualified for Regionals. The day before Regionals, however, I got injured on one of our runs and was not able to run at Regionals the next day. I vowed to avenge that by running even harder for my last few seasons.

Outdoor Additional

2008 - Broke school 4x800m Relay record
Freshman year Outdoor Track got me started on running, and the Fall after that, during Sophomore year, I joined Cross Country. I made it to Districts that Freshman year, running our our team's 4x800m relay, and I got a Varsity Letter in the process.
My breakthrough season came in the 2008 season for Outdoor Track, where I finally broke the 5-minute barrier in the mile and I ran extremely well in the 800m, running under 2:10 for the majority of my races. As one of the members of our highly successful 4x800m relay team, I improved greatly on my 800m running in that I ran a 2:02 800m split for our District Championships, nearly catching up to 2nd place finisher Marshall HS. We lost by a second.
