Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

It's a goal of mine to achieve at the highest level I'm capable of and find a school where I'm able to reach my athletic potential and work with other athletes to be the best we can be. Also, I've found athletics to be another way to influence and help others. Athletics has many stories, and challenges that test ones' character and often serve as inspiration or motivation to not only yourself but others. I really enjoy this dynamic how athletics translates into life lessons that can make us better people.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Nominated and attended Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership seminar reserved for 1 selected student per school that is identified as a leader with a strong academic performance. The seminar is based on being a leader and volunteering to give back organize programs and help others. While at the seminar, our groups of ambassadors participated in various functions and activities to support volunteer programs.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I think healthy athletic performance and being a student athlete really go hand and hand. Both help each other to form a well rounded individual. Academics really challenge the mind not only learn new concepts but to apply principles and lessons to the real world. Athletics help balance the individual by providing a physical outlet and focus on the body. This often leads to healthy eating, exercise and weight training which enhances the individual's performance. Athletic competition also translates to academics by channeling the competitive focus to succeed and learn in the classroom. Both require work, time and dedication to achieve desired results and outcomes. It's a good balance of mind and body and I believe both are necessary for positive results in academics and athletics.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I'm involved in service in my community through four different groups. Both of my athletics teams (football and wrestling) are involved in the community and support community service programs as well as giving back and helping our youth football and wrestling programs at camps and practices. As part of National Honor Society, community service hours are required and is another means of participating in volunteer programs in my community. Lastly, the HOBY seminar I attended and participated in volunteer programs to help individuals in need. The seminar also closed, charging ambassadors with the challenge of completing and notating 100 community service hours in the next year. I think it's important to give back where you can. It helps you appreciate what you have along with teachers and coaches that have helped you, and it also feels good to help others where they have a need that is filled.
