For eight years, I thought I wanted to go into sports medicine and Physical Therapy. However, after the summer of my Freshman year, I began to work in a Physical Therapist's office, and realized the profession simply wasn't for me. After I joined the Clairemont Town Council last summer, I realized I am much better suited to be in the field of Political Sciences and International Relations and Affairs.

Personal Highlights

I am a currently a senior at Clairemont High School in San Diego. I am a very active and motivated student both on and off campus. I am currently the President of three clubs on campus: the FIDM Fashion Club, the Young Life Club, and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Club, as well as the President of the Associated Student Body (ASB) at Clairemont High School, and the ASB Executive District Council President over the San Diego Unified School District. Apart from this, I am also very involved in my community, I am a National Youth Delegate for the Anti Defamation League (ADL) in the San Diego Regional office, and was given the opportunity to proudly represent San Diego along with nine other students at the 2014 National Youth Leadership Mission (NYLM). I also volunteer on the board of the Clairemont Town Council as the Student Representative, where I am the head of the Communications Committee, as well as the chairperson for the Movies in the Park fundraisers for summer 2015. I wrestle in the 150 pound weight class, and am excited to finish out my last high school season while I decide what college or university I want to wrestle for in the fall.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Leadership has been a part of my life since I was 9 years old, the first time I got to teach a Sunday School class. Since then, my leadership skills have expanded and I have been involved in multiple clubs and organizations in and out of school. I am the President of the FIDM Fashion Club, the Young Life Club, and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Club. In addition to this I am the Vice President of the Associated Student Body (ASB), and am running for ASB President for the 2015-2016 school year. I am also a National Delegate for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), and had the honor of representing my school in Washington D.C at the National Youth Leadership Mission (NYLM) in October of 2014. As for my leadership roles on the mat, I am one of the two girl's Wrestling captains, and I also take care of all our paperwork and publicity around the school.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

During August 2014, after my first summer job as a receptionist, I joined the board of the Clairemont Town Council as their Student Representative. During my time with the board, I have become the Head of the Communications Committee, and the Chair of the Movies in the Park fundraiser for summer 2015. This is a free event for families in our community to come enjoy a movie and some carnival games. We make most of our revenue off of a silent auction, selling hamburgers and hotdogs during the event. Being a part of the Clairemont Town Council holds a special importance in my heart because I love helping others and giving of my time to help others. Once I'm in college, I plan to major in Political Science and Government with a minor in International Affairs.
