Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the crew team I am seen very much as a leader, constantly taking leadership roles, working my hardest, and encouraging everyone day in and day out. My first year of rowing I was awarded "most motivated", because each day I came ready to work. I am the usually the one giving a speech to my team before we race, cheering my teammates on down the river, helping them get through a hard workout and encouraging them to keep going on their workout. Off the field I still fulfill leadership roles, by being on student council, the vice president of the LEO club, a peer leader, a member of key club and more. I enjoy taking on leadership roles and fulfilling the duty of a leader.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue healthy athletic performance by eating organic, working out everyday and by not drinking or smoking. Health is very important to me and incorporating different core exercises along with aerobics and yoga help me to maintain and improve my speed, stamina and endurance.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

In school I am a member of NHS, and multiple clubs that offer many volunteer opportunities in my area. I have taken advantage of many opportunities, like helping at the Elderly valentines day in my town, Christmas shopping with disabled children, choreographing dances for elementary school children, school shows, and organizing school events. I also helped coach the local cheerleading team, and help out with the Haddonfield learn to row program. I enjoy all the service I am involved in because it offers great opportunities, I meet a lot of new people along the way, and learn a lot. I also like making a difference in people's lives, and the service I do gives me the ability to do so.
