Hi! I am Justin Wingerter, a Senior this fall at Blue Valley Southwest High School, and I am interested in playing golf for (INSERT SCHOOL HERE!!) next year. I am working to update this profile, but as of 08/01/2019, I just had my 3rd consecutive AJGA top 10 finish, and finished 6th in the KC Amateur, placing behind 3 Division I and 2 Division II golfers while beating several other college golfers from all divisions. I also finished 12th in stroke play out of 144 qualifiers for the KS State Am Championship but was knocked out of match play in the 2nd round by the eventual finalist. Even though I lost, I was proud to be the only one to take him to extra holes to determine a winner. There are more successes for 2019, but until I update my complete profile, I hope you will take a moment to view my 2018 accomplishments too. Last year, I won the KC Junior Championship, qualified for the US Junior Amateur, and became the youngest and only junior player ever to win the KC Masters Men’s Invitational. I was also named 2018 KCGA Boys Player of the Year. Additionally, I was the only one to go undefeated for 3 days in the Mid-America Junior Cup Title featuring the top 8 juniors from KC and St. Louis competing in a Ryder-Cup style event. To cap off the season, I finished fifth in the KCGA 2018 Men’s Amateur Rankings. Although my current AJGA Rolex ranking continues to move up rapidly, I believe it remains understated because it does not include many of the men’s amateur tournaments I have performed well in.
