Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have been selected or voted team captain each of the 5 years that I have played club volleyball and was selected team captain of my high school team last year as a sophomore. I strive to be the "coach on the floor" and pride myself in being able to lift the play of someone who may be struggling at any particular time. The last few summers I have been asked to help with volleyball clinics as an instructor. Helping the little ones with the fundamentals and instilling the love of the game into them is one of my favorite things.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

My father who was a college athlete and who is a chiropractor has taught me the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Proper diet, training and preparation has always been a big part of my life. After my college career is over I know I will continue to be involved with athletics and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Community service is a large part of the Yuma Catholic educational experience. I have volunteered as a referee for youth volleyball tournaments, worked with our local Rotary Club on community events and have worked many fund raisers to support worthy causes in our city.
