I want to thank all of the coaches who took an interest in me on BeRecruited. I have accepted admission to the University of Wisconsin-Stout and have been recruited to join the women's golf team there. Go Blue Devils! I wish all of you well in forming your teams and chalking up some wins during the women's golf season!
I have started a winter teen girls' golf program in conjunction with The First Tee of South Central Wisconsin to insure that we keep swinging all year round. The program focuses on The First Tee values of confidence, honesty and respect so that the girls are prepared to compete in high school golf. As for providing leadership on the golf course, I am the No. 1 player on the Varsity Girls' Golf team for my high school. This means the girls on the team are looking to me to role model healthy habits, dedicated practice time and honor and sportsmanship on the golf course, no matter how difficult the challenges I face. As I was the only girl on the team to make it to State in 2017, it was quite humbling and a testament to my leadership to see how many of my team members arranged to take off school to follow me during the tournament.
I am a mentor and volunteer for the First Tee of South Central Wisconsin. I know how much I learned both in golf and in values and healthy living by being a The First Tee participant, and I want to make that opportunity as fulfilling for others as it was for me. I am also aware of how important it is to obtain a college degree, so I help young people in our chapter's learning center with their reading and math. It is rewarding to witness their growth both academically and in confidence.
