Personal Highlights

In addition to academic and athletic pursuits, I am an active member of my school community; serving on Student Government, volunteering to help special needs children, and managing our freshman basketball team, and JV lacrosse team

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

While on the field in a recent field hockey match, I was paired with a group of inexperienced midfielders. Prior to the match, I spoke with each player and gave them my vote of confidence. They were able to take the field with less pressure knowing that I would support them throughout the match.

I am the oldest of the children in my family. While my parents both work during the day, I am responsible for my siblings. I initiate projects and fun activities with my brothers and lead them through to completion.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Healthy athletic performance begins with love of the game. The commitment and passion one has for a sport must be properly balanced with dedication to schoolwork. One can not exist without the other as a student athlete.

Development as both an athlete and student comes with obstacles. Nothing will be easy. It is important for one to maintain the competitive spirit and drive whether in victory or defeat.

Balance, in all aspects of life, is crucial to ones success as a student-athlete.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunteer for the Special Needs Soccer Association, helping disabled youth develop their soccer skills
