Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

I love sports, love competition and hope to use this love to access a higher education.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the court and field there have been occasions where I have had to lift the team up so we can work together to win. A softball example would be during a tournament where I had already pitched in 4 games one of our other pitchers was struggling. Instead of complaining that my muscles were tired or that my back hurt, I stepped up to the mound and shut out the team for the win and the trophy. That is what teammates do for each other, lift one another up. In volleyball we were winning in the state semi finals 2 sets to none but the other team mounted a come back. When the seniors started to stress I told them we've got this and get me the ball. We won that game and advanced to the state championships for the first time in history.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Pursuing healthy athletic performance to me means no drugs of any kind. It also means eating a balanced diet to maintain muscle performance and keeping your system clean so that if you do have an injury it will recover faster.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I enjoy working with the kids who are physically challenged. In our school we have a classroom dedicated to their needs. I enjoy spending time with in that classroom as a student aid. I work with and help a student with terminal brain cancer. She is 5 years old. On most Wednesday nights I can be found playing bingo at Ayers Therapy center and Retirement home unless practice runs late.
