I believe playing sports in college is important for a balanced life. Playing sports will enable me to continue to develop both athletically and academically.
I have had the opportunity to be a leader both on and off the field. As a freshman and sophomore I was captain of the JV Volleyball team. I have even more experience being a leader off the field. I was the founder of the Academic Decathlon team and VP. In addition I recently received the honor of being elected the Senior Class President for the 2016-2017 school year.
Balancing both academics, athletics, and a social life means that I am constantly having to evaluate what is important to me. Living a healthy life style is important to me as a student-athlete and remembering this as I pursue each day is what helps me make good decisions.
I am currently very active in my school community. As a member of ASB at Quartz Hill High School I have the opportunity to be very active. Some events I have been active in include, community blood drives, organizing dances, organizing a haunted house, and participating in back to school events.
