Personal Highlights

I currently carry a 4.16 GPA and look forward to going to college, where I can major in Engineering. In addition to swimming, I play varsity water polo where I am team captain. I have been playing the piano since age 8. I have been swimming high school since freshman year and club since December of junior year. Swimming has become such an important part of my life, I want to train hard to continue on in college. I am very committed to my sport and love it!

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am the team captain for my Varsity Swim Team where I help all who need it and try to inspire them to improve. As a volunteer at Alvarado Hospital I made my self open to assist any co-volunteer who needed my help.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I make sure I get plenty of rest each night, eat a healthy breakfast, pack plenty snacks during meets and practices. I make sure to stretch properly before going in the pool, and try to give my self enough time to balance homework with home life and swim.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I've recently completed 100 hrs on 3/29/15, volunteering at Alvarado Hospital in La Mesa, CA. Prior to that I had 80 hours from volunteering at Lantern Crest Retirement home, piano concerts for the elderly; American Red Cross, information services; American Heart Association 5K, water station; Arthritis Foundation 5k, water station; Guardian Angels Catholic Church, annual fall festival. I enjoy working with the public, and feel a huge accomplishment. I found working with the elderly most rewarding.
