Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

As an athlete that has been a part of this program for three years, I have had the opportunity to mentor and help upcoming novice athletes and younger varsity athletes by encouraging them and helping them realize their potential. Away from practice, I feel it is very important to have camaraderie and include everyone. i try to do this whenever possible.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I firmly believe that a positive attitude has helped me the most through my athletic and academic career so far. I believe that getting enough sleep, exercising, and proper nutrition are the key to a healthy athletic career.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am a Teen board member for a community service project called Focus on Home, as a board member I help direct the group projects towards building houses and helping to better the OKC community. I am also a committee member for Duck Week, this is a very important part of our school culture, it stands for "Doing Unselfish Charities for Kids". As a community, we nominate and select a person or family in our community to raise money for. Our past recipients have been fellow students, teachers and others in need after tornadoes or similar disasters.
