Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I demonstrate leadership on and off the field. My teammates recognize my leadership skills by nominating me twice for the Most Valuable Player award and once for the Boilermaker award, which is awarded to the player who represents the team. Both awards were given based off of my leadership qualities. Off the court, I have been nominated twice to participant in my school's Leadership Conference. In order to be able to participate in this event, I demonstrated leadership qualities inside the classroom. Also, I hold many leadership positions in the clubs and extracurricular activities I am involved in. I am treasurer of the orchestra, orchestra representative of Tri-M Music Honor Society, and the senior class Vice President. These opportunities and positions have allowed me to be successful on and off the court.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I believe volunteering within your community is very important to build character and learn skills that will later benefit you in life. I am a member of the National Honor Society and take part in volunteering activities to fulfill my membership duties. As part of my NHS volunteer hours, I worked at Riverside Medical Center. This volunteer opportunity helped solidify my future plans of becoming a physician. I am grateful for this opportunity to work closely with patients because it helped shaped my post-high school plans.
