2 game winning field goals last season, One was a 42 yarder to put my team in the district playoffs with 2 minutes left to play. Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Given the privilege of being the captain of the soccer team, I demonstrate that on the field by encouraging the players if they make a mistake and coaching them if I'm able. Off the field, I encourage the players to stay away from drugs and alcohol and I have a good attitude. I lead by example and I practice what I preach.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As a student-athlete, I pursue a healthy athletic performance by staying away from anything that could get me in trouble or anything that could negatively affect my performance. I don't drink alcohol, i don't do drugs, and I don't use tobacco. I also practice on my own time. I run, lift weights, and practice my soccer skills along with kicking techniques for football outside of school.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
