Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the field, I am a captain of my volleyball team and I am charged with leading my team to play at their highest possible performance. However, beyond that, as a leader on the field I need to provide support and knowledge to the younger athletes that will one day need to be the leaders of our team. Off the field, during my sophomore year, I was one of three students selected to take part in the Leadership Blair County Youth program. This program works with students who are seen as leaders in their school and communities in order to provide the students with more understanding of what it means to truly be a leader. Through various activities, this program helped to strengthen and refine my skills as a leader

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue healthy athletic performance in three ways: having a balanced and nutritious diet, sticking to a strict sleeping schedule, and by responsibly managing my time in order to acheive my academic and athletic goals

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am actively involved in my community in multiples ways: the most important one to me is volunteering at the Red Cross Blood Drives. Through these efforts I am able to make a difference for thousands of people who are in need of medical assistance. Another way in which I am involved with the community is through a Christian camp I work for over the summer. I do my best to help the kids have an enjoyable time while also being a role model for them. Beyond that, I give tennis lessons to younger kids during the fall and summer. Through these various experiences I have learned that there are many more important things in this world than just my needs and wants. There are people who need support and guidance, and it is part of my responsibility to help those in need.
